The ownership of Duckling Air is danish and its head quarter is based in Vaerloese, Denmark . The company's present income is primarily based on taxi and charter flights, but the general expansion in airline traffic is also noticable in Denmark. Even more so after FS98 was put on the market. The demand for a competitive, danish airline company, being able to serve and operate domestic as well as international routes, has increased drastically.

The Duckling Air fleet currently consists of short and long distance aircraft. Our company obtains its planes from well-established aircraft manufacturors, through the Duckling Air Factory and maintenance Workshop ( DAFW ), mainly situated in Vaerloese, but having regional branches in Chicago, Illinois and Springfield, Missouri (USA).

The fleet

The livery of the Duckling Air fleet is designed by the present owner, Jens Borgstroem, and can only be subject to changes with his consent. At present the Duckling Air fleet consists of B747-400, B757-200, SAAB3480B, LearJet45 and Cessna182RG. We've chartered a Dash7 from Greenlandair ( operational ) and a SAAB2000 from Crossair ( delivered soon ). A B717-200 is being testflown at the Boeing Factory at the moment, and we plan to get one of these 'birds' in the Duckling Air colours too. We are in the market for some good A320s and DC10s too, just to mention a few. It is the idea to also fit classic airliners from the past into the fleet. This will create the possibility for a division of the airline to serve the routes used in the 50s and 60s.

The platform

Primarily FS98, because it will simplify orders/delivery of aircraft and also present the possibility of using the more advanced addons within the area of navigational equipment and cockpit layouts.

Copyrights - rights to origin asf.

R8ight/ownership to names, designs, hubs, ideas, scenery and airport enhanchments, planes asf. will, after the conversion and expansion of the present company still belong to and be owned by the present owner of Duckling Air. After conversion the company name will still be " Duckling Air " and the present logos, designs asf. are to be used by the new company. The company's net capital, reserves, outstanding account, and all assets in general will also and still, after the conversion be the property of the original owner. It is still not decided whether the company/airline will be converted in to a Ltd/Inc. after the conversion and expansion.

Coorporation with other companies

Charter and air services on routes will mostly be carried out by the company fleet, but it is likely that planes from Greenlandair for Flightsim will execute some of the flying, and perhaps even enter into some kind of collaboration on a more regular basis.

Running the company

It is not the intention that either of the two initiators, Jens Borgstroem and Esben Emborg, are to run the company, nor be the ones that do the actual build up that is needed. The principles and ideas, laid down by the initiators are, on the other hand, to be opheld, and they reserve their right to put forward suggestions and see that the new company is in fact based upon and also run according to the ideals behind it all and to the lines given for the project.
Every day life in Duckling Air

The primary target with "Duckling Air" is to have a nice time, it's supposed to be a pleasure to participate. It is certainly not the intention that any of the participants shall take upon themselves any obligation he or she does not want.

On the other hand, if one has promissed to deliver e.g. a set of flight plans before or at a certain date, it won't do if the '´goods' are not delivered as agreed upon. Then again, if an agreement on e.g. creating flight plans on a regular basis is just getting too much for the member in question ( just an example ), he/she must be relieved from this task, generally or partly, and other members must take over to help out.

Another example: Having a route on a regular basis to look after as a pilot, it's no good if it has to be flown on a tight schedule, say every Tuesday and Friday at certain hours, meaning that the member in question has to postpone his/her everyday life to uphold the obligation. The idea is that the pilots report flights once a week or once every fortnight. The dates and hours for the flight must be adjusted by the pilot so that the logbook readout is correct. Even if the flight was actually conducted on a Sunday afternoon but scheduled for a Thursday evening, it is easily manipulated in the setup of FS98. In general, the members participate when and if they have the time.

..... In fact there are known examples of members of Virtual Airlines, who were happy to participate, but on the other hand had to give it up because of the restrictions and obligations to uphold certain tasks at certain hours. .....

Pilots, who only wish to do a flight sometimes, are also very welcome. As an idea, they can do charter flights with passengers or cargo routes, to be agreed upon in a collaboration between the individual pilot and the flight-planner in question. Communication can be done via @mail, which is practical due to a great many persons, having shown interest in the project, in fact live 'abroad' ( from a strictly danish point of view :o)

One of the basic ideas re. flight planning is, that these plans to some degree have start up situations and also weather conditions implemented, and, hopefully also some adventures included . In this way some of the elements of unpredictable events can be a part of the every day life in Duckling Air.

What crew is needed

All categories are welcome - some to do the build up of the company, some to maintain the every day running of the company, pilots, flight/route-planners, clerks, WEB designers - in fact, 'you name it'. 8

Survey - interest

To get a clear overview, a survey on interest among simmers is necessary, so please, and this is important, do sign up ! And please also do so, even if you're only interest is e.g. flying a charter route8 from time to time, doing the planning on one or two general routes ( for stationary purpose ), participate in a part of the build up - in fact - when you feel like it !

As can be seen from the above mentioned, the possibilities are multiple and almost any category of skill will be usefull. But - please notice that the jobs as chauffeur for the present owner, and lease of the canteens/restaurants in Vaerloese and Copenhagen Airports are taken.

Do reflect if you think that 'Duckling Air' sounds like a good idea you would like to help develop and be a part of.

The start up

To obtain the best, correct and most expedient structure for the company, it's essential that a couple of interested persons can and will take it upon themselves to coordinate the start up phase. It would be very nice if one or more of these persons in fact had some experience from other Virtual Airlines and/or from running a real life Airline.

Jens Borgstrøm from Duckling Air and Esben Emborg from Flight Simulator Denmark promise to give all support possible and needed, but stress, that they are not experienced when it comes to starting up and running a Virtual Airline.

How to get in touch, how to enlist

In this preliminary phase the initiators don't see the 'signing up' as entering into an exclusive membership - but more or less - as means of getting in touch with people who would like to participate on any of the above referred levels, and afterwards exchange the connections and ideas to form a 'board' to deal with the start up, and build up of the company.

This first intro- /promotion page is made out in danish and english, but hereafter the homepage, the various sub-pages and communication in general, will be in english ( the company language ).

By pressing the button "Enlist" you'll be ' teleported ' to the formular-page.
